Mauricio Ortiz is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Level III Capital. He directs the development of trading systems and software that form the backbone of the firm’s systematic investment strategies in digital assets, enabling a consistent and disciplined investment process.

Prior to founding Level III Capital, he was an engineer on the Critical Infrastructure team at Goldman Sachs & Co. within the Consumer Wealth Management division, where he maintained the critical infrastructure of Marcus, Goldman Sachs' consumer bank, and managed front-facing systems essential to the bank's operations.

With extensive experience in financial technology infrastructure and distributed systems, Mauricio has architected trading solutions for institutional clients and led large-scale enterprise observability implementations. He also served as a cloud infrastructure instructor for data science and infrastructure teams at Banco Santander S.A.

Mauricio graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
